Oil Changers

Oil Changers is America’s leading independent quick lube operator. Recognized nationally for operational excellence (including three NOLN operators of the year), we grew from 34 stores in 2018 to over 200 today! As a Private Equity-backed organization, we expect to continue our aggressive growth targets and seek a Payroll Coordinator to help us process payroll in different pay cycle needs. This role will report to the Payroll Administrator and work closely with the rest of the HR team to develop and maintain effective and efficient processes.

Selected responsibilities include

  • Verify timekeeping records and consult employees about any discrepancies
  • Enter all payroll data in our software system and verify all amounts prior to cutting checks
  • Enter Employee Data into the payroll\HR software application.
  • Enter Employee Data into the Time and Attendance module within the locations Point of Sales System.
  • Computing wages, deductions, commissions, benefits, etc.
  • Prepare manual checks for distribution to employees
  • Initiate direct deposits.
  • Change employee banking records when necessary to process payments accurately
  • Record and maintaining employee records and payroll records.
  • Maintain compliant policies and procedures for processing payroll checks, advanced understanding of all functions relating to payroll accounting, taxes, government regulations
  • Employment Verifications and Garnishment replies to various agencies.
  • Gather employee data as needed to complete new hire process for new employees.
  • Answering questions and resolving issues regarding payroll.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations, tax and deduction laws.
  • Preparing payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to process basic functions and formulas in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to create communication Memorandums in Word
  • Familiarity with Paycom payroll software a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and strong confidentiality ethics required
  • Strong phone communication skills a must
  • Must be able to uphold and promote professional office environment
  • Multi-State payroll experience a plus

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum of at least three years payroll experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting practices and tax laws.
  • Proficiency in G-Suite, payroll systems and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
